Nichole is a Miami based artist, wife and mother of 2, specializing in oil painting , mixed media and costume design. Nichole started painting when she was sixteen but had always had a love for doodling and creating with her hands. She started out at the Art Institute for fashion, and realized she liked painting more. She has ben self-taught for a number of years and then did a number of private instruction classes until 2020, when she did a year long art program and became serious about learning all of the proper techniques.
Her work is mostly figurative, oil on canvas or wood panels. She is currently working on a series that she calls Fragmented, she uses salvage plywood and covers it in strips of canvas, layered in different directions to create textures. This technique came about from a desire to recycle materials because there can be so much waste in the art world. Nichole paints portraits of people looking to capture a piece of their essence, usually incorporating animals and elements from nature. She has a body of work from her own personal creations and also takes on commissions for clients who want portraits or family members, animals or a special scene that they can dream up together.
